June 18, 2007 Day 60
As I near the end of two months into my year-long project, I get a sense of continuity and rhythm in the process of drawing each day. There is satisfaction in seeing the finished sheets of paper piling up, making a substantial "body of work." There is also the personal benefit of knowing that I can count on myself for something.
With my changeable nature, always seeking the new challenge, abandoning the old, it gives me a sense of stability to know that I can actually stay with a plan for the long term. Of course, I'm speaking early, with ten months to go in a twelve-month project. But each day I continue makes me more confident that I will be able to carry it out.
After yesterday's "constipated" drawing, I decided to go back to line this morning, using only the fine point of a black pen. This is a strange and whimsical piece, unlike what I've been doing. Maybe I should stay with line for a while and see where it takes me.
(Note: There is a gap between the dates I'm writing and posting because I had to give myself time to get ahead in case we travel and I'm not able to post.)
