January 25, 2008 Day 281
Last night I copied huge gobs of files from my old computer to my new one, and unfortunately, I had some of the same files in several places under different folder names, and--well, you can imagine what happened. I updated a page on my website in Dreamweaver, and then forgot how to upload the file to my website. I finally got that straightened out, but the new file I uploaded was no good and then I had to rush back to my old computer and fix it. To make a long story short, I wasted several hours before I got it all set up properly.
But now I'm happy--everything is working smoothly on the new Imac except email, which Jim will help me with tonight.
My drawing this morning reflected the frustration I felt with the computers:
After that I started the background on a new canvas:
Last night we saw the film Canvas at the Cornell cinema--a movie showing how a family deals with mental illness. There was an interesting panel discussion afterwards, which made me appreciate the movie even more. It had seemed a bit sentimental and romanticized to me at first, but the important issues were dealt with successfully. If you or anyone you know is suffering from any mental illness, this would be a valuable film to watch.
(Note: There is a gap between the dates I'm writing and posting in order to give me time to get ahead.)
