I love the detail, color sensibility and composition in Massachusetts abstract artist Deborah T. Colter's mixed-media paintings:
DYNAMIC VOYAGE, 48" x 48" mixed-media acrylic on canvas by Deborah T. Colter.
If anything about Deborah's images makes you think of looking out a plane window, you'd be on the same page as the artist. "Quite often I think of the view from an airplane window and how the surface below is mapped out by the intervention of the human hand," says Deborah. "Borrowing from virtual images of the earth’s surface, I have enjoyed the ability to travel over the landscape at will. My paintings for this new series of work have been influenced by the complexities of pattern, structure of lines and vast open spaces discovered through those virtual travels."
RELAXED RESOLVE, 40" x 40" mixed media acrylic on canvas by Deborah T. Colter.
Deborah studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and is currently represented by galleries in Georgia, Illinois, New York and Massachusetts. Her art hangs in public and private collections throughout the U.S., and has been shown in numerous exhibitions. You can find out more about what's going on in Deborah's art life by reading her art blog or visiting her Facebook page.
