Abstract Art + Painted Violins at The Kitschen Sink

Painted Violins at The Kitchen Sink

Seven painted violins, mine included, will be on display at The Kitschen Sink in January, 2010, with an opening on Thursday, January 7, from 5-8 pm.  Each of the artists will also have a painting on display, and I am showing my abstract painting, Sunburst, which complements the violin, I think:

  Painted Violin

The violins were painted and donated to The Cayuga Chamber Orchestra to help raise money for them.  Raffle tickets may be purchased throughout the year, and winners will be picked in the Spring at the end of their season. 

Beginning a New Abstract Painting

Now that I've finished my painted violin, I can start a new abstract painting.  Here it is in step one, or the "background" stage:

   Canvas #75, 48" x 48"

I am still using the yellow-orange-red color range I love so much.  

The violins will be on exhibit on September 15th at a fundraiser event for the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra at Bridges Cornell Heights in Ithaca, New York. 

Painting Abstract Art on a Violin, Part 5

I finally finished painting my abstract art on a violin to be raffled off with several others to benefit the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra.  While working on my violin, I listened to Leila Josefowicz, a young American violinist, for inspiration.
